The Company's History

Open Joint-Stock Company "AZMOL" is a developing enterprise manufacturing lubricating greases, oils, cutting fluids, technological agents, alkyd pentaphthalic enamels and varnishes. Its history dates back to 1930-s.

Berdyansk Cracking Plant was founded on the Azov Sea coast and in 1937 it started to produce petrol for military aviation. Since then the Plant has rapidly been increasing its production capacities.

Since 1947 the Plant has been retrofitted for production of lubricants and step by step it has become a leading enterprise of petrochemical industry - Pilot Oil-and-Lubricant Plant. It was called Berdyansk Pilot Oil-and-Lubricant Plant (BONMZ) till 1994. New lubricants manufacturing for VOLGA Autoworks (VAZ) was an important milestone in the Plant's life.

In 1960 the shop of synthetic fatty acids began its work. It was for the first time in this country and it worked for 30 years.

In 1991 Ukraine became an independent country, but the Company managed to launch new products under complicated circumstances. In 1992 they set up manufacturing of motor, hydraulic and refrigerator oils the percentage of which in today's AZMOL production volume makes 70 %.
